It was intimidating to leave everything I knew behind, but I knew it was the right decision for me. If it weren’t’t for that time in my life, I wouldn’t’t be where I am today. Now I get to spend every day doing what I love.

I wasn’t going to let my five-foot stature get in the way of my basketball aspirations. I had a competitive spirit, spurred on by two siblings and amazingly supportive parents. My mom was my biggest cheerleader, and when it was clear how seriously I took basketball, my dad set up a space for me to practice with a hoop and a floodlight. What I lacked in height, I made up for in ball handling, three-pointers and leadership. I learned a good lesson at an early age: if you want something and are passionate enough to pursue it, you can make it happen.

My upbringing in basketball paid off for me in major ways. I received an athletic scholarship, which led to an education at a private college, which led to an amazing career. I owe basketball a lot.

Despite being a brand-new college graduate, I was lucky that a consulting company saw potential in me and offered me a position. It was an exciting opportunity, but it would have to come with a big change. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and went to college in Tennessee. This new opportunity was in Arizona, where I didn’t’t know a soul. But I felt that I needed to push myself out of my comfort zone and meet new people, so I accepted the offer.

At 21, I moved halfway across the country, equally excited to begin something new and petrified by the change. I had to rely on my inner strength and competitive spirit to work it out and stay the course. Even on the bad days when I was tempted to go back to where things were familiar and safe, I knew I was right to stay in Arizona. And I’m so glad I did!

I originally expected to only be here long enough to do one project, but after settling in, I never wanted to leave! Arizona was my home base, but my position gave me opportunities to travel frequently - I worked in all but four states during my time there. I was quickly promoted all the way up to partner, and for 11 years, that job took over my life.

But that was the problem. Traveling to do impactful work in your twenties is one thing. A decade later, that starts to wear you down. There I was, a partner in this business, and all I saw in my future was burnout.

I changed courses and briefly worked as the Chief People Officer at a technology company. Then I took some time to reassess what I wanted and did some work on nonprofit boards of directors. Real estate had never occurred to me. It wasn’t’t until a friend suggested it to me that I explored the possibility of becoming a realtor. I completed the classes in a matter of six weeks and of course, passed the exams on the first try.

Real estate has allowed me to live a life of serving with passion. I adopted a child and have been able to provide for my family. I’ve also grown a team of community experts, and I’m positively impacting many people in my community. There are a lot of factors to consider when you’re moving. We’re here to help you find your way home. My clients know that they can rely on me for support. I look forward to the opportunity of doing that for you!

Going the extra mile is paramount to my success. I have a vivid memory of standing on the roof of a high rise building with a cable tv installer. I was trying to get TV Japan for a client who had just moved from Tokyo and didn’t speak much English. They loved the walkable condo, but the cable company the building used didn’t have the one channel they really wanted. I made the calls, got condo board approval and then went to the top of the building to ensure TV Japan was correctly set up for them. They had that one familiar thing they needed to call this condo their home.  It’s taking those extra steps that make the difference.
